EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 10, 2025) – Competing at the Mid-Atlantic Esports Conference (MAEC) Championships this past weekend, Mount St. Mary’s won the title for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate while finishing second in Overwatch 2 and Rocket League.
Corey Faustin took SSBU Most Valuable Player honors by taking nine stocks in the championship game against Glenville State. The team posted a 4-1 record in SSBU, overcoming challenges from both GSU and Radford.
In additional events, the Mountaineers took two wins to surpass Penn State and VCU and finish runner-up for Overwatch. For Rocket League, that team earned five wins in a crowded field to the runner-up place finish. A team also competed in Valorant, winning four times to come in fifth.
Mount St. Mary’s efforts at MAEC come off a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship for Overwatch a couple of weeks prior.
