The Hanoi Department of Education and Training on June 5 reported that Do Quoc Binh, a 12th-grade student at Ly Thuong Kiet High School, is the only representative from Hanoi among the eight students selected from localities across the country for the national team.

The remaining seven students were selected from schools in Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. The team was established under Decision No. 1503 issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on June 4.

IOAI 2026 will take place in Kazakhstan from August 2 to 8. The competition is an international platform for high school students in the field of artificial intelligence, bringing together teams from countries and territories around the world.

Do Quoc Binh has achieved a number of notable results in academic studies and informatics competitions. During the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years, he won first prizes in informatics at the Gia Lam-Long Bien cluster-level competition for outstanding students and earned top awards at youth informatics contests in Long Bien District.

In the 2025-2026 school year, he received a consolation prize in informatics at the Hanoi city-level competition for outstanding students and a third prize at a scientific and technical research competition for upper-secondary schools.

Throughout his three years of high school, Binh maintained good academic performance and conduct and was recognised as an outstanding student.

His selection for Vietnam’s IOAI 2026 team marks a notable achievement for Ly Thuong Kiet High School and Hanoi’s education sector in the field of artificial intelligence.
