LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Exciting news for UW-La Crosse students interested in Artificial Intelligence!

The university is introducing a new AI Ethics Certificate program, set to begin this spring.

The 12-credit program will explore key topics such as meta-ethics, philosophy of mind, and moral responsibility, preparing students to address the ethical challenges emerging in the field of AI.

” What this certificate is designed to do is to help students think about these issues in a way that’s socially informed to help them develop a conscious to help them understand where we are at with the technology, what the technology is capable of as we see it and what the potential is,” said Stewart Eskew, head of UWL AI Ethics Certificate program.

The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex ethical issues surrounding artificial intelligence.
