BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Students from across North Dakota gathered at the State Capitol Wednesday to show off their science and tech projects.

From robots to programming, visitors and legislators all had a chance to browse the impressive array. Freshmen from Munich Public School showed off the artificial intelligence machines they trained to tell diseased crops apart from healthy ones. By holding a picture up to a laptop’s camera, the program can analyze the image in real-time and provide a health assessment.

“I think it has inspired a lot of other people in our class to kind of get into this, because some people already kind of knew that they wanted to, and I think it kind of helped some people decide if they were in between whether they wanted to or not,” said freshman Emma Hall.

Each of the students made their own version of the AI machine, which can analyze soybeans, pinto beans, wheat and corn.
