In recent years, the process of choosing a career has become more uncertain due to the rise of artificial intelligence and the emergence of new professions. These changes are causing uncertainty among many students, who don’t always know how to chart their future in a constantly evolving work environment.
According to experts at the UFV, it is common for this decision to be influenced by the minimum admission score, employability, or external expectations, without any real process of personal reflection.
“Students often feel like they have to make decisions too quickly and under a lot of pressure,” explains Clara Teruel, a psychologist in the UFV’s Career Counseling Department.
“Choosing a career shouldn’t be based solely on external factors, but rather on a process of self-discovery and reflection on who I am, what drives me, and how I want to contribute to society,” he adds.
