Capcom Cup 11 and the Street Fighter League World Championship have both concluded. Although many fans were anticipating the Elena teaser for Street Fighter 6, Capcom did not reveal anything gameplay related after the competitions were over with.
However, we did receive some new information about what we should expect from the Capcom Pro Tour 2025 season. Those that performed well during the Capcom Pro Tour and Street Fighter League competitions will receive invitations to compete at the Esports World Cup being held in August 2025.
According to Capcom Fighters, 30 players that advance through the Capcom Pro Tour and Street Fighter League will qualify for the Esports World Cup.
These players will consist of the top 8 performing players from Capcom Cup 11, 12 players from Street Fighter League 2024, and 10 players that finish within the top 2 of five select Capcom Pro Tour 2025 Premier Tournaments.
The select Premier Tournaments for the Capcom Pro Tour 2025 season are Evo Japan, CEO 15, Combo Breaker, Evo, and Blink Respawn 2025.
Of course, this means that players won’t be able to qualify for the Esports World Cup by performing well at Ultimate Fighter Arena 2025, Evo France 2025, or Premier Asia 2025 since they will happen around the same time (in Ultimate Fighter Arena 2025’s case) or after the Esports World Cup.
Regardless, whoever takes first place at the Esports World Cup 2025 will automatically qualify for Capcom Cup 12. It’s interesting to note that any player that takes first place at a Premier Tournament within the Capcom Pro Tour 2025 season will automatically qualify them for Capcom Cup 12 anyhow.
However, it will still be possible to compete at Capcom Cup 12 without coming in first place at a Premier Tournament. Capcom is bringing back the point system that will be relevant for those that finish within the top 25 at these major events.
300 points will be awarded to second place finishers, 250 points for third place, 200 points for fourth place, 150 points for fifth place, 100 points for seventh place, 50 points for ninth place, 30 points for thirteenth place, 20 points for seventeenth place, and 10 points for twenty-fifth place.
Finally, it’s been confirmed that Esports World Cup and Street Fighter 6 will be collaborating for the next three years — 2025, 2026, and 2027. This implies that Street Fighter 6 will continue to receive support from Capcom over those years (and likely beyond that).
