This weekend, two BMS Robotics teams proudly represented their school and community on the global stage at the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas, joining 483 teams from 33 countries across six competitive divisions.

Team 7865F ‘Banana Boys’ brought energy, creativity, and skill to the competition, finishing with an impressive 7-3 record in their qualification matches.

Their enthusiasm was unmatched, especially as they donned bright banana costumes that quickly made them fan favorites.

Their positive spirit and team camaraderie didn’t go unnoticed—judges awarded them the prestigious Sportsmanship Award, recognizing their standout attitude and inspiring presence throughout the event.

Banana Boys are made up of 7th graders: Jackson Maus, Jackson Lynch, Beckett Kessler, and Beau Gibson.

Meanwhile, Team 7865B ‘It’s Whatever’ went 7-3 but earned crucial programming-based Autonomous Win Points, moving them up in the rankings.

After such a strong finish, It’s Whatever earned the distinction of becoming the Captain of the 9th-seeded alliance, teaming up with Control X from Austin, TX.

Together, they made a powerful run into the round of 16 before narrowly being eliminated.

Their performance places them among the top 50 VEX teams in the World, a remarkable achievement reflecting their hard work, strategy, and innovation.

It’s Whatever is made up of 8th graders: Max Miranda, Greyson Huffman, Chloe O’Chocke, and Charlie Moreland.

The BMS Robotics teams not only demonstrated technical excellence but also embodied the spirit of teamwork and the spirit that VEX Robotics promotes.

“It was great to work with and compete against all of the teams from around the world, it was also fun to collect their team stickers and bracelets,” says It’s Whatever’s Chloe O’Chocke.

Their collaboration and hard work in Dallas mark a proud moment for BMS and set a strong foundation for next year’s competition.

Congratulations to 7865F and 7865B on their outstanding performance.
