Envy have made a quick move to sign the team known as Loan Sharks before the ALGS Championship.
Envy, just moments after announcing their revival as a separate esports organisation, have announced they are entering Apex Legends and the ALGS for the first time. They have done so with the signing of the Loan Sharks. This team was previously signed to BLEED Esports.
In a interesting twist of fate, two of the players on the new Envy roster were previously on OpTic Gaming. That is the organisation that previously owned Envy, until todays re-establishment as a separate entity.
Envy look well placed for instant success at the ALGS Championship. The Loan Sharks, Dropped, YanYa and Knoqd have been performing very well in pre-event scrims. They also boast one of the most experienced coaches in Apex Legends, being stewarded by former TSM coach Raven.

Dropped, YanYa, Knoqd and coach Raven were by far the standout free-agent team heading into the event. It took longer than expected, but it is no surprise that they were snapped up ahead of the event.

Envy have an excellent blend of ALGS experience and in-game fire-power. Dropped and Knoqd are a tried and tested duo, with YanYa providing some extra flair and aggression in fights. In addition, thanks to the huge experience of Raven, the team has adapted well to both the ‘support meta’ and the slight remix of that since the Season 23 mid-season update.
Dropped and Knoqd both have huge experience playing support Legends, something that both players have done for huge amounts of their careers. In addition, this team is no stranger to main-stage success. OpTic, which Dropped and Knoqd then represented, finished second at the last ALGS Championship. They dominated the finals and were only a match-point win by a single fight with NRG. The title instead went to TSM, who were then coached by Raven.
While there are always twists and turns in ALGS events, Envy are undoubtedly one of the teams to watch. Could the newly reformed organisation collect the title in Sapporo to kick off their new era?
