Razer has just announced that it’s signed the legendary Counter-Strike rifler Nikola “NiKo” Kovač to its brand. This is a huge coup for Razer, with NiKo being largely associated with Logitech gear for a large part of his career. Now, he not only makes the move to using Razer gear in-game, but is also available to consult on future esports-focused products.

A player’s decision on which PC peripherals to use for a game such as Counter-Strike 2 isn’t taken lightly, but there are clear favorites that can be identified. Logitech and Razer are actively battling it out for supremacy across the best gaming mouse, keyboard, and headset for use in CS2, and now NiKo will not only commit to Razer gear for competitions, but also work with the brand to develop its future gear for elite play.

According to Prosettings, and as pointed out in the press release announcing the deal, NiKo currently uses the Razer Viper V3 Pro Faker Edition, Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL keyboard, Razer Gigantus V2 mouse pad, and Razer Blackshark V2 Pro headset.

Speaking about the deal, NiKo said, “I have known Razer as long as I have known Counter-Strike—about 20 years. 2025 is an exciting time to join Razer as they are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. As an esports player, having the support of a brand that shares my passion for excellence and innovation is extremely important. Razer is top-tier in my books, and I am hyped about what we are going to do together.”

Previously, NiKo had leaned towards Logitech gear, but it is not clear if this was in part due to his featuring on a team sponsored by the brand, namely G2 Esports. This Razer deal shows just NiKo partnering with the brand, and not the Team Falcons organization for which he currently plays, which carries no major peripheral brand sponsorship in the team name or on the jerseys.

Logitech still dominates the mice used by professional CS2 players, according to Prosettings, which has the G Pro X Superlight 2 and its predecessor ranked at numbers one and two, with a total 36.19% share of the 807 pro players for which it has data. The Razer Viper V3 Pro currently holds a 12.76% share in third place, with the Deathadder V3 Pro in fourth with 7.68%.

On keyboards, NiKo is already using the most popular option as the Hunstman V3 Pro TKL is used by 17.47% of players, while the next two options are actually the Wooting 80HE and Wooting 60HE+. Logitech takes spots four and five with the G Pro X TKL and G Pro X, however.

While it’s unlikely that NiKo’s deal with Razer will inspire other pro players to switch their gear, it’s a big win for Razer that one of the greatest players to pick up the game is committing to using its gear for the foreseeable future. There is, however, the possibility that NiKo’s fans will look to follow in his footsteps and replicate his setup soon.
