Trojan Esports notched its 500th program victory Wednesday, Feb. 26, hitting the mark in just six years.
Carrollton High School added Esports in fall 2018, its first year offered, and named Robby Blakemore head coach. The program, which began with one sport, two teams and 12 players, has grown to eight sports, 18 teams and 76 members. The Trojans are 510-183-2 all-time and are off to one of their best starts in spring 2025.
“Esports has been a fantastic addition to the GHSA and Trojan Nation,” head coach Robby Blakemore said. “Offering students of all backgrounds the opportunity be part of a team and experience the thrill of competition is great.”
Carrollton High School Athletic Director Elizabeth Sanders praised the Esports program’s accomplishments in a short time.
“The growth and success of Trojan Esports in just six years is a testament to the dedication of our students and coaches,” Sanders said. “It’s truly remarkable to see how this program has fostered a sense of community and provided valuable opportunities for our student-athletes.”
The Trojans will compete for GHSA championships in Splatoon, NBA2K, and Madden this spring while competing nationally in Mario Kart, Marvel Rivals, and Street Fighter. Varsity Esports is currently 22-1 on the season.
